The Magic Christians took their name from the Terry Southern novel of the same name, which was in turn made into a weird movie starring Peter Sellers, Ringo Starr, and various Monty Python members in their pre-Python days. Over the decades the line-up has changed due to the fact that the group doesn't really exist and its members have no idea they are even in the band.
